Hagiyaki is a traditional ceramic ware that originated in Hagi City, Yamaguchi Prefecture. The clay used for Hagi ware is characterized by its softness and warmth. The clay is also water absorbent, so the color of the ware changes little by little with tea and sake, and the more it is used, the more it develops its own unique flavor.
